2018 Global Dental Relief Scholarship Information
A $500 scholarship will be awarded to two active HOSA members to participate on a 2018 Global Dental Relief field dental clinic. One scholarship will be reserved for HOSA students from Colorado if applicable.
- Eligibility: High school or postsecondary students who are active members of HOSA. If the scholarship winner is 18 at the time of volunteering OR under 18 with a teacher or parent accompanying them, he/she may participate in any of the 2018 clinics. If the scholarship winner is not 18 at the time of volunteering, he/she may participate in the July 20th-29th, 2018 Guatemala clinic with the Global Dental Relief trip leaders serving as a chaperone.
- All applicants must submit a completed scholarship applications to his/her HOSA State Advisor by Wednesday, April 4th, 2018. The state advisor will forward applications for the top three finalists from their state to GDR by April 6th.
- GDR will announce the scholarship winner on April 11th. The winner will then need to fill out a GDR volunteer application and make arrangements to pay the remaining trip balance. Students are encouraged to fundraise asking their friends and family to partner with them and make a tax-deductible donation towards their trip. GDR will provide a fundraising guide to all volunteers who plan to fundraise their project fee.
